April 2010 - Meeting Announcement

Our next monthly meeting is Tuesday, April 20th from 6:30-8:00pm. It will be held at our usual place: Bethany United Methodist Church, 5634 S Park Avenue.

This month we will be joined by Jim Schacht, Pierce County Deputy Prosecutor & Drug Unit Team Leader and Officer Don Williams, Community Liaison Officer of Tacoma Police Department. We will be discussing ways to stop drug dealers in our neighborhood. They will help us develop better tactics on getting drug dealers out of our neighborhood and how we can keep them from returning.

Please invite your neighbors and don't forget to bring donations of canned food, toiletries cleaning supplies and/or paper goods for Bounty Food Bank And, we are always needing cash for Park Avenue Neighborhood's operating fund.

We look forward to seeing you there.

And the winners of the Speediest Streets are...

At our March meeting, we discussed speeding. The results of the speediest streets in our neighborhood are:

1. S Park Avenue
2. S 64th Street
3. S 61st Street and S G Street (tie)

So, how do we intend to slow down traffic on these streets? What are your ideas? What is the most cost-effective way to do this? How will it be paid for?

Should we start with additional signs and request an Innovative Grant to pay for them?

Email your ideas to parkavenueneighborhood@gmail.com.
